1972 - Ira leader lies In state': Joseph Mccann, a top Ira leader - and the man the IRA say was responsible for the deaths of 15 British soldiers, was shot dead in a Belfast street last saturday, after refusing soldiers orders to halt. On monday his body was lying in state at his home in Belfast, before being taken to Holy Trinity church in the Turf Lodge district of the city. Yesterday he was buried at Miltown cemetery.
