Jul. 07, 1972 - Hail the feet deep. Hailstones, the size of marbles, poured down in Nottingham, causing severe flooding. Boats had to be used to rescue people trapped in cars. Photo shows:- Residents clearing away the giant hailstones, which were as much as three feet deep, in Radford, Nottingham
