Aug. 08, 1971 - At the end of the Weeley Pop Festival: An estimated 140, 000 people flocked to the 200-acre site at the Essex village of Weeley. They left hundreds of tons of rubbish which was being cleared by the organisers, members of Clacton Round Table, to enable the village (pop.951) to return to normal.
