Six of the 19 men who escaped left behind a trail of terror as they fled from the man-hunt. Two policemen who spotted the men in a wood outside the village of Courtown in Co. Wexford, were overpowered and tied up, then they raided a holiday bungalow at Ballymoney, five miles away.
