1974 - Ira Victim Was Police Informer': Kenneth Lennon, the Irishman found shot dead in a ditch at Chipstead, Surrey, on Saturday, left a signed statement claiming he was forced by the police to become an undercover agent for the Special Branch and infiltrate the Ira. He claimed in his statement that he was receiving regular instructions and payments from the Special Branch. Lennon gave his 8, 000-word statement to the National Council for Civil Liberties last Wednesday. A copy of the statement has been sent to Mr. Jenkins, the Home Secretary.
