Dec. 12, 1975 - Siege gunmen accept food for the first time in the five day siege :Food for the hostages in the Balcombe Street siege, lowered on a doctor's order was last night accepted into the flat after an argument among the gunman inside.The canisters, lowered on a rope from above were accepted after an explanation on a police loud-hailer that they were sent on doctors orders for the hostages.The food, soup, coffee, cigarettes and sandwiches, was the first to enter the besieged flat without being thrown out since the siege started five days ago.
