Dec. 12, 1975 - Police Refuse Plea for Food for Ira Gunmen holding couple Hostage in a London Flat :Four Ira gunman and their two hostages, Mr. John Matthews, 54, a Post office Supervisor, and his wife Sheila, 53, were last night barricaded inside the small living room of a council flat in Marylebone, London, without food or running water. One of the terrorists is believed to he Michael Wiling named by the police as the Killer of Ross McWhirter. Armed police who has surrounded the building moved into the remaining rooms of the flat.
