Feb. 02, 1976 - Fourteen British Mercenaries Executed By Firing Squad In Northern Angola: The Foreign Office has ordered an urgent investigation about a report that 14 British mercenaries have been executed by a firing squad in Northern Angola for refusing to fight. Today John Banks, the man who recruited many of the mercenaries through an organisation called SAS (Security Advisory Services) was shocked at the news of the execution and threatened to pull out all the mercenaries. Photo shows John Banks watched by Frank Perren, an original partner of the SAS, stresses a point during a press conference he gave today at the London Press Centre
