Oct. 10, 1974 - A Salute From Dad: The father of four girls, Flight Sergeant Bill Peden will have to call his eldest daughter Mam following today's ceremony - by order of the Royal Air Force. Carol Anne, 19, graduated after a parade at the R.A.F. Training Command Officer Cadet Unit at Henlow as a WRAF Pilot Officer. She received her very first respectful salute from her own dad. Carol Anne joined the Women's Royal Air Force on April 21 this year shortly after her family came home from a tour of duty in Cyprus where her father was based at RAF Akrotiri. The Pedens now live at Gloucester Road, RAF Wyton, near Huntingdon. Pilot Officer Peden goes to the RAF College at Cranwell for specialist training in the Supply Branch.
