Oct. 10, 1974 - Lord Shinwell - 90 Today - Presents Self-Propelling Chair To Thalidomide Boy.: A 15-year old Thalidomide boy today celebrated with Lord Shinwell, the Labour peer's 90th. birthday. Eddie Freeman, of Stevanage, Herts, born without arms or legs, received a self-propelling chair from Lord Shinwell at a luncheon at the Savoy Hotel. It is the first of 24 chairs for Thalidomide victims from the Otis Elevator company. Photo shows Lord Shinwell, 90 today - seen with his wife, arriving at the Savoy for today's luncheon
