Mar. 03, 1976 - Sir Richard Marsh to quit as Chairman of British Rail: Sir Richard Marsh, chairman of British Rail, yesterday avoided the embarrassment of not having his contract renewed by announcing that he is to give up the post in September. He wrote to Mr. Crosland, environment secretary asking not to be considered for re-appointment to his ?23, 100 a year job when his present five year term of office ends.
