Sep. 09, 1975 - A Vedic marriage ceremony in an english village: This weekend marks the annual festival of Janmasthmi and it was celebrated with particular fervour in the tiny Hertfordshire village of Letchmore Heath. An estimated 10, 000 devotees of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKON) otherwise known as the Hare Krishna movement attended this major Hindu festival. A highlight of the festival was the initiation of new devotees in a fire ceremony and a colourful Vedic marriage conducted according a ritual claimed to the several thousand years old.
