Sep. 09, 1976 - COMMEMORATIVE PLAQUE UNVEILED AT BIRMINGHAM INTERNATIONAL: Mr. Peter Parker, Chairman of British Rail, and SIR Stan Yapp, Leader of West Midlands County Council, today unveiled a commemorative plaque at British Rail's newest Inter-City station - Birmingham International. Situated between Hampton-in-Arden and Marston Green stations on the high speed route linking London and the West Midlands, Birmingham International was built to serve the National Exhibition Centre.
