Oct. 10, 1975 - The First Picture Of The London Siege Hostages Held By Ira Gunmen In A London Flat: Early today Mr. John Matthews, 54, a Post Office chief inspector, and his wife Sheila, 53, the couple held hostage in their London flat by Ira terrorists, were beginning their third day trapped in their living room with the gunmen. The gang and their captives have not eaten since the siege began on Saturday Dec. 6th, and negotiations for the release of Mrs. Matthews in exchange for food and cigarettes demanded by the gang was ignored.
