Jan. 23, 1974 - January 23rd, 1974 New leader of Ulster's Unionist Party Mr. Harry West, a farmer from Fermanagh, yesterday became the new leader of Ulster's official Unionist Party, in succession to Mr. Faulkner, who resigned a fortnight ago. He was elected at a meeting in Belfast of the 310-strong standing committee, although only 170 members turned up.
