Aug. 08, 1975 - Courts hamper war on crime says yard chief: Any assessment of value of jury trials should take into account threats to witnesses, dubious defence tatics, crooked lawyers and the need to protect criminals giving evidence for the Crown, said Sir Robert Marx, Metropolitan Police Commissioner, yesterday.
