Jan. 02, 1981 - New Year's Eve Bombing Of East London Gas Works: Two men were being sought last night by anti-terrorist squad detectives investigating the bombing of two gas holders in Brombley-by-Bow, East London, on New Year's Eve. No one has claimed responsibility for the two bombs, but detectives beleive it was the work of Provisional IRA active-service unit. No one was injured in the bombings.
