The room is part of the Old Admiralty Building i in 1723-25 by Thomas Riplet, Chief Carpenter to Hm Office of works. For the first 60 years of its history the first lord and other lords of the Admiralty lived on the premises, using the board Rooms as an office, and sometimes as a dining room
