Jun. 20, 1979 - The Governor of Hong Kong Sir Murray MacLehose met with Secretary General Kurt Waldheim amid growing International concern of the South East Asian immigration problem. After the meeting Sir Murray MacLehose pointed out that there were already 56, 000 Vietnamese refugee in Hong Kong and more were arriving at a rate of 24, 000 a month.
