Aug. 08, 1977 - Violence Flares at the Notting Hill Carnival ; Mose of ricing youths plashed with the police during the noting hill carnivl last night as police moved in they were met with a hail of beer cans and borrow, bricks and chair legs, by midnight the number of injured had reached 220, old which 90 were taken to hospital, some with stab wounds. photo shows A fleet street photographer being carried to safety by police being attacked during the carnival yesterday
