May 05, 1981 - Violent Playtime In The Streets of Belfast They are experts in street war tactics and fighting and can identify weapons from their sound alone, giving its type and name from a hundred yards away. For these children taking an active part in the rioting in the streets of Belfast their deadly game is as normal, if not more normal, than a game of football. For these young war veterans the streets of the trouble-torn city are their violent playground'. These pictures were taken during a lull in rioting in the Divis flats area of the Falls Road. The youngsters stone a burnt-out van full of cigarettes which had been overturned and set alight as a barricade.
