Feb. 02, 1956 - Mother wins back three Iron Curtain sons: An english mother was reunited at London Airport last night with her three school-age sons, who had flown unaccompanied 1, 000 miles from behind the Iron Curtain. When the airliner from Prague touched down the boys, in balaclavas and blue ski ten trousers, stayed anxiously in their seats. Their 30 year old mother m Mrs Mary Edwards, ran up arms and hugged and plane, swept her sons into her arms and hugged and kissed them after being parted from them for six months. Mrs. Edwards of Newcastle-on-Tyne, was married during the war to a Szech serving the Army in Britain. She went him to Czechoslavakia in 1946 She learned later he already had a wife, so she had her marriage annulled. as a result she lost her Czech nationally and came to England last August for a holiday, but never intended to go back. She appealed to the Foreign Office and the Czech Emassy to allow her children to join in this country and family they were allowed to leave.
