Uprising in East Berlin, papers thrown out of HO Building

Apr. 17 Demonstrations and riots in East Berlin. Soviet Occupation Troops go into action against civilian population: Heavy demonstrations and street fights occurred in Berlin when labourers residing in East Berlin revolted against the East German Blood Regime. Trusting that the Soviet High Commissioner, Semyonov, would immediately remove the Ulbricht-Grotewohl government, the laborers rose up and demanded liberty, freedom of speech and deactivation of the People's Police'. To the surprise of many demonstrators, the Russian town commander ordered a tank brigade into the threatened area, in order to maintain public security and to protect Russian lives. Imperialistic gangsters provoked the attack on the heart of our threatened economy and its symbol, the HO-Building, announced the East Berlin Broadcasting Corporation. The announcer was right, for excited workmen crashed into this ill-famed building, broke by force the doors, stormed into the building and threw files, memoranda, bills, invoices, requests right through the windows, down into the street where youngsters roared, Down with the East German Government - Down with this building
