USS Enterprise, aircraft carrier
May 05, 1963 - The World's Largest aircraft carrier currently exercising in the Mediteranean is the mighty American Atom-powered aircraft carrier Enterprise. The Enterprise which is known as the Big E is said to be large enough to carry both the Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Mary liners side by side on her flight deck. She carries 100 jet fighters and bombers, has a crew of nearly 5, 000, has 20 decks and has cost £150, 000 to build. Photo shows Bow view of the U.S.S.
