Sep. 10, 1969 - September 10th, 1969 Nephew of the late Queen Salote arrives in London to take up appointment A nephew of the late Queen Salote, appointed by the King of Tonga to be Tonga's commissioner and consul in London, arrived today to take up his appointment. He is Vaea, formerly Governor of Ha'apai, an island group in the kingdom of Toaga. Vaea it is both name and chiefly title and no English prefix is appropriate, flew Catalina flying boats in the Solomons as an officer of the Royal New Zealand Auxiliary Air Force from 1942-45.
