Feb. 02, 1964 - Spacegirl Val goes to see the Queen, meets Professor Lovell: The world's first woman in space, Valentina Tereshkova of Russia, who has come to London for a week's visit, is today having a before-lunch audience with the Queen at Buckingham Palace, after which she was entertained to a luncheon by Mr. Amery, Minister of Aviation. Photo shows When she arrived for the luncheon at Lancaster House, Valentina Tereshkova was introduced to Professor Bernard Lovell who helped to track her during her space flight from the Jodreil Bank radio telescope.
