Feb. 19, 1974 - Russian dancer Valery Panov, 35, former dancer of the Kirov Ballet, asked for authorisation to emigrate to Israel two years ago. By defecting to Israel, he will leave his wife, Galina, in the USSR because she is not Jewish. Here he is in the role of d'Artagnan from the ballet, The Three Musketeers, with the Kirov Ballet
