Feb. 02, 1961 - The Music Man rehearsal: Twelve-year old Gillian Martindale, from Norbury, who makes her stage debut in The Music Man, was rehearsing at the Adelphi Theatre today with leading man Van Johnson ('Professor Harold Hill), and Patricia Lambert (Marian Paroo). Gillian, who plays Gracie Shinn, a singing, dancing and speaking role, has been acting professionally in films since she was six. Her latest is Blue Murder at St. Trinians'. The Music Man opens at the Adelphi on March 16th, after a short provincial run at the Hippodrome, Bristol, beginning Feb. 24th until March 4th.
