Vanessa Redgrave arrives for Equity meeting, London
Oct. 10, 1975 - Vanessa Redgrave in Equity battle: Vanessa Redgrave, and a group of left wing rebels held a meeting at the Young Vic Theatre yesterday (Sunday) to discuss tactics in their campaign to take control of the Actors Union Equity. The Union is at present in a state of confusion not knowing whether to follow the Left or take up a Right wing role. Miss Redgrave and her group call themselves Defend Equity, Defend the Union and their aim according to a statement issued after yesterday's meeting is to try to bring pressure on a Right Wing clique proposing to introduce new union rules on November 9th.
