May 05, 1972 - Britain's First gift wrapped flower post. Britain's first flowers by post vending machines, dispensing pre packed, pre stamped boxes of roses, went into operation today at the London Chief Office, King Edward Street, London, E.C.L as part of a Post Office trial. For two 50p coins, customers striped box. One 50p coin buys a smaller box containing one rose and a greetings card.
