He was born near Naples but was taken to America at the ago of four. To strenghten him against too much dependence on bodily comfort he has not slept in a bed for sixteen years. On his journey to England in the Queen mary he spent the nights in a chair in the. He has established centres of Buddhism in New York, St. Paul, Minnesota, Chicago, and Los Angeles and will go to Burman after three months here in the hope of finding monks with a knowledge of English who can go to America to continue the missionary work.
