Eccles, who in December will become Commander-in-chef- of Britain's Home Fleet and N.A.T.O. Commander in Chief, Eastern Atlantic. He served as Flag Officer of Australian Fleet and in January 1953 was given the same job in the Air Arm of Britain's Home Fleet. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth the same year
