March 5, 1965 - Da Nang, Vietnam - Vietnamese infantrymen scramble from a UH-34D helicopter near Ang Bac, 8 miles from Da Nang to support other Vietnamese infantrymen in repelling an attack on their sector by Viet Cong guerillas. In the 1950's, the US began to send troops to Vietnam, during the following 25-year period, the ensuing war would create some of the strongest tensions in US history
