The recent purge of the military junta in Saigon, in which Major General Nguyen Khanh siezed power by arresting his brother generals, had had little effect so far in slowing the Vietnam Government troops searching the jungles and marshes for the will-o-the-wisp communist guerillas. The fact that the war is going badly for the jungle is no secret. The guerillas are not fighting according to the rules, and refuse ot stand and fight, preferring to hit-and-run, , and shoot down U.S. helicopters with ground fire. Even the 15, 000 U.S. advisers who are in the country to teach modern warfare and all it's tricks, in addtiion to supplying military aid at a million dollars a day, are being out manoeuvred by this slinky, tricky Viet Congs, and the see no end in sight in clearing the communist guerrillas from their jungle strongholds.
