Vietnam War

Nov. 11, 1965 - Viet Cong using man Trars. The war in Vietnam has added a new name to the list of combat weapon. the Punji trap. At first the Viet Cong booby trap was simply a hole in the ground, about the size of a man's foot, containing a few razor-sharp bamboo stakes. Because of those traps U.S. troops were issued a new type of boots, which the stakes could not penetrate. The new Punji traps now conceal two victim steps on the trap the wire snaps and rows of iron spikes pierce his leg above the boot and enter his leg muscles from two sides.
