Vietnamese refugees arriving in Hong Kong

May 05, 1979 - Come to our rescue-says Mrs Thatcher.: Prime Minister Mrs Thatcher has appealed to the other Nations to come to our aid of the Vietnamese people. They are pouring into Hong Kong, but the outflow is but a trickle. In the 24 hour period (May 10/11th) 1, 724 Vietnamese refugees landed in Hong Kong, and 30, 000 have arrived so far. Photo shows the scene on a Hong Kong dockyard as several boat loads arrive at the same time
