Vietnamese refugees arriving in Hong Kong
May 29, 1979 - May 29th 1979 - Come to our rescue-says Mrs. Thatcher - Prime Minister Mrs. Thatcher has appealed to other nations to come to our aid of the Vietnamese people. They are pouring into Hong Kong, but the outflow is but a trickle. In the 24 hour period (May 10/11th), 1, 724 Vietnames refugees landed in Hong Kong, and 30, 000 have arrived so far.
