Nov. 11, 1958 - Education grant to orphan daughter of war heroine in danger of being reduced questions in house.: Dame Irene Ward, Tory M.P. for Tynemouth today tabled a motion in the House of Commons. She say that the education grant awarded to Tania Szabo daughter of Legendary Heroine Violette Szabo G.C. is in danger of being reduced.She said that a move was on foot to reduce the grant because a proportion of the royalties on the book and film of the life of Violette Szabo had been voluntarily set aside as a fund for her daughter. Tania is now 15 and lives in Australia with her grandparents. Violette was daughter of Mr. And Mrs. C.G. Bushell who then lived in Stockwell, London. She married a Free French Foreign Legion of icer in 1940. He was killed El Alamein. Violette became an agent partly with the idea of avenging his death.
