Feb. 21, 1967 - New Headquarters For New Scotland Yard At Broadway, London SW1. Photo shows A newly designed War Memorial is erected in the main entrance hall. It takes the form of a marble plinth, surmounted by a glass case in two sections. In one section a gas flame burns continuously, and in the other is placed a book of remembrance, one page of which will be turned daily. The plinth is inscribed: To the memory of those members of the Metropolitan Police Force and of the civil staffs who lost their lives on active service or by enemy action. 1914-1918, 1939-1945
