Mar. 03, 1969 - Valuable Watteau Painting Stolen. A Watteau oil painting valued at £150, 000 was stolen during the night from the Sir John Soane Museum in Lincoln's Inn Fields, Holborn, London. The painting, Les Noces, was painted about 1730, and shows a group of figures with a bride and bridegroom and a landscape behind. This copy of the stolen Watteau painting was supplied by Scotland Yard. The English title is The Village Wedding
