Jul. 07, 1955 - Radar Scanner As Aid To Weather Forecasting Aparatus Installed At The Met Office: The Decca Type 41 strom taring radar scanner is now being used by the London Forecasting section of the Meteorological Office -as an experiment. The apparatus is expected to increase efficiency in weather forecasting - it displays echoes from heavy rain or storm within a radius of approx. 150 miles. The apparatus cost, 000 to install. Photo Shows Then type 41 radar Saner on the roof of there Met Office in Kingway today
