Wedgwood china service for Coronation Dinner

Apr. 17 Wedgwood China Service, 1, 200 piece, for use at Lancaster House Coronation Dinner. A 1, 200 piece China Dinner Service has been made by the famous firm of Wedgwood for use at the Coronation Dinner on June 5th when Mr Eden the Foreign Secretary and Mrs Eden will entertain the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and more than 100 official guests from the Commonwealth and Empire and from foreign countries, in the Long Gallery of Lancaster House, St James's Palace. Photo shows table laid with Golden Persephone for the Coronation Dinner. The border was designed by the late Eric Ravilious, a war artist who was killed on active service in 1942. The plates have the Royal Coat of Arms in the centre and are of gold design on fine bone china
