Working with the F.B.I. under guise of a respectable company in New York, a spy network of 300 agents was set up with the aim of getting America into the war against Germany. Led by Canadian millionaire William Stephenson, Winston Churchill himself decided on the mission to save Britain by involving America by feeding evidence to the Prow, the courts and State Department; by mail intercepts, telephone tapping and safe cracking - in fact by breaking the law when the aim justified it
