Nov. 11, 1975 - Party Convention of the Federal German Social Democratic party in Mannheim. This year's party convention of the Federal German Social Democratic Party was opened on November 11th in Mannheim by a two hour speech by the chairman, Willy Brandt. In his address, Willy Brandt stated the determination of his party to go along again with the Free Democrats in the next legislative period. Further subjects were among others the preparation of the SPD for the forthcoming elections in November 1976, a self-critical representation of the party and hard criticism towards the opposition parties CDU/CSU, saying they are a risk for safety in this country. The SPD convention runs until November 15th.
