Wine Queen Christel II of Rheingau, Germany

May 25, 1968 - Pictured here is wine queen Christel II of Rheingau as she presents the first German canned wine, at the Institut fuer Weinchemie der Hessischen Lehr- und Forschungsanstalt fuer Wein-, Obst-, und Gartnbau in Geisenheim. Professor Wucher-Pfennig began with 300 cans of red and white wine and experimented with the application. With this method wine doesn't have to be hidden away from light and people can take it camping or on trips
