Winston Churchill memorial in glass, Dudley, Worcs
Aug. 08, 1969 - Churchill memorial - in glass. Dudley, Worcestershire, shoppers have been having a preview of a huge coloured glass screen built into a new Churchill Precinct shopping centre as a memorial to Sir Winston Churchill. The screen measures 39ft x 10ft, and is the work of Mr. Edward Brainbridge Copnall, the kent artist. The complete work is made up of 17 separate panels and shows the seated Sir Winston surrounded by parliament buildings, St. Paul's Cathedral, and his paintings and books-and panels depicting the array, Navy Air force in wartime action.
