Winston Spencer-Churchill practises parachute jump

Jun. 06, 1980 - MP's parachute jump for Charity delayed owning to bad weather: Mr. Winston Spencer-Churchill, Conservative MP for Stretford, taking part in pre-parachuting training in a hanger at Aldershot when 19 MP's underwent a crash course with the Red Devils, the Parachute Regiment's free-fall team, with the object of dropping from a Islander aircraft from 2.500ft in aid of charity. Bad weather prevented the jump which, it is hoped, will take place later this week in aid of cancer research, the NSCC and the Airey Neave Memorial Trust
