Woman with monkey on a bus, SE London

1968 - A Monkey Goes To Work By Bus.: Mickey, the Rhesus monkey, aged one year, is well known in Biggin Hill, and on the bus route into Woolwich, where his mistress, Mrs. W. Goodsall, works in a factory canteen. Every working day, Mickey gets up at the same time as his mother, and after saying hello to his pal, the dog, the cat and the neighbouring children, he is groomed, helps to feed the hens, and then sets off to work with her. He rides the first part of the walk to the bus on the back of the big mongrel dog, and then walks a way, but usually ends up in Mrs. Goodsall's grip. He likes playing around on the bus stop, and is well known to the bus travellers and to the conductor. Mrs. Goodsall first started taking Mickey to work with her when he started fretting at being left alone. Photo shows Mickey likes to have the bus tickets as playthings during the bus ride.
