Nov. 11, 1953 - Women Magistrates Go Down the Mine.. They Wanted First Hand Information.. Three Newton Le Willows (Lance) Woman Magistrate changed their costume recently when they went down a mine at Lyme Colliery, Earltown, to obtain first hand information - that they hope will help them when they have to take part in cases concerning the pits at some future date..
