Women's Liberation Movement, march in London

Mar. 06, 1971 - March 6th 1971 Women's Liberation Movement march from Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square, London. Women's Liberation movement marched for the first time in Britain today they started their march from Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square. At least 1, 000 militant women took part in the march which could be the biggest all female demonstration since the days of the Suffragettes. A petition was drawn up by the National Committee to be handed in to 10 Downing Street for the Prime Minister Mr Heath. The Petition calls for free 24 hour child care centres, Equal educational and Job opportunities, Equal pay now, Free Contraception and abortion on Demand.
